Motivation Statement

Hello! My name is Karen Tan & I am fundraising for Hospis Malaysia. Thank your your time and donation! My "Run For A Reason" is for my late Papa. His name is Steven, and he is the best Dad on Earth (according to me). Throughout his life, he taught me the importance of showing up and never giving up. When I run, I get to try to be like him- to show up and never give up. He grew up in poverty, but he never had excuses for himself. Instead, he tried his best and gave his best to his family. He passed away in March 2024 due to cancer. I've seen how painful sickness can be, and I hope that everyone can get the care they deserve- regardless of how sick they are, or how old they are. I run together with Yap Club (with my awesome committee and co-founders) and many other run clubs around KL such as Journey Run Club, Weekends Athletics, Asics Run Club & more. I'm really grateful for the strength that my running community gave me! Thank you for your time and donation :)
