Motivation Statement

I’m thankful to be participating in this year’s Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon under the Run For A Reason initiative in support of Hospis Malaysia. Palliative care services are crucial for patients facing life-limiting illnesses, providing comfort, pain management, and emotional support to both patients and their families during one of the most challenging times of their lives. Having worked in a hospital for a short period, I came to understand how important palliative care truly is — and how invaluable nurses are in this journey. They are not just caregivers, but pillars of strength, compassion, and comfort for patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.
